The role

The Talent Acquisition Specialist is responsible for the provision of proactive and seamless coordination and some administration for all early career recruitment-related activities across the firm. The role reports to the EC Talent Acquisition Lead. It’s essential that the TAS works collaboratively with the EC TAL and the TA administrator, as well as the broader TA and People Experience teams. This role delivers a high quality, positive recruitment experience for candidates and other stakeholders.

The responsibilities

  • This role is varied and duties across the whole Early Careers Talent Acquisition team are proportionately divided up according to workload and levels of experience. Including attending careers fairs, interviewing candidates, providing constructive feedback to candidates, responding to queries and coordinating assessment centres.
  • The TAS must ensure they contribute and communicate timely and constructive updates to the EC annual calendar.
  • This role will “free up” the ECTAL when they are travelling to universities and executing on the education and engagement EC strategy i.e. hold down the office in their absence. At times, the EC TAS may need to travel especially at key or peak ECTA calendar milestones (e.g. careers fairs, university skills sessions, etc).
  • This role contributes to the design of the broader ECTA attraction and selection strategy, including campaign and marketing design and execution.
  • This role is skilled at providing constructive feedback to both successful and unsuccessful applicants as we wish for all applicants to have a positive learning experience, no matter the outcome.
  • Being integral to the EC TA team is key– you will screen CVs, collate interview feedback and ensure records are maintained according Saffrey’s data protection policies.
  • The TAS will be comfortable managing the EC inbox s part of the ECTA team and ensure prompt response or escalation, where necessary.
  • There will be a big focus on diversity on the EC programmes going forward and this role will work closely the ED&I Senior Manager to looks at initiatives to encourage a diverse cohort of applicants to apply and get through the selection process.
  • This role has a good working relationship with the whole EC team, and the broader People Experience team. They will also engage with external suppliers and internal hiring managers.
  • Reporting is carried out across appropriate systems used within the TA team, including the ATS. This role is the superuser of the ATS and other TA related systems and will play a key role in feeding back opportunities to refine and automate processes, empowering you to evolve processes and systems to create efficiencies in the team. There will be a heavy focus on EDI reporting.
  • It is expected that the whole of the EC team will work in an agile manner. This means that during peak periods of attraction and selection or learning and development (e.g. onboarding) the whole team supports, where feasible. It ensures opportunities for broadening exposure and learning for each member of the EC team, but also a more seamless and holistic experience for the applicants, trainees, line managers. This also reduces key person dependency during times of holidays and sickness.

The role sits within the Early Careers Talent Acquisition team, part of the wider People Experience team in a collegiate environment with a culture of supporting the development of everyone within it.

You

  • Requires broad or specialised knowledge from advanced specialised training, work experience or a relevant degree or equivalent. May have an understanding of theoretical concepts and principles.
  • Relevant experience within specific area of work in professional services or a partnership.
  • Strong presentation skills and ability to be persuasive. May need the ability to coach and motivate others.
  • Able to use judgement / experience to tackle issues and seek advice on more complex problems.
  • Strong analytical skills, based on systems and models relevant to the field of work.
  • Strong computer literacy and understanding of relevant software. Keeps up to date on all required training such as information security.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; including communicating with technical and non-technical clients and staff at all organisational levels.
  • High levels of commitment and ability to act when necessary.
  • Team-focused mentality, understanding that the function must work collaboratively to drive success.
  • Strong presentation skills and ability to be persuasive.
