The Bournemouth office is seeking an experienced, professional, and enthusiastic Audit Senior to join our dynamic audit and accounts team. If you are ACA or ACCA qualified or a finalist with a commercially minded and proactive approach to client work, we would love to hear from you.
The Role
This varied and challenging role offers exposure to a wide range of clients and requires working to tight deadlines. As an Audit Senior, your key responsibilities will include:
- Full Planning: Identifying risks, setting materiality, and designing appropriate tests.
- Leading Audit Fieldwork: Guiding a team, focusing on team development, and delivering a positive client experience.
- Detailed Audit Work: Taking ownership of decisions and conclusions through professional judgment.
- Audit Requirements: Applying professional scepticism and ensuring appropriate documentation.
- Client Rapport: Developing strong relationships to deliver effective audits and accounts.
- File Completion: Summarizing key audit findings for the partner’s review.
- Communication: Maintaining regular and effective communication with managers and the team throughout the audit process.
- Budgetary Control: Managing budgets and keeping the manager informed.
- Flexible Work Locations: Working across client sites, in the office, and from home.

The Office
Our Bournemouth office provides a full range of accounting, audit and assurance, business advisory, tax, and VAT services to businesses and individuals both in the UK and internationally Our staff regularly collaborate with colleagues in our national offices to ensure seamless service delivery to clients, no matter where they are located. The Bournemouth office, offers a small office feel within the larger Saffery family of around 1200 people.
About You
- Qualifications: ACA/ACCA qualified or finalist.
- Experience: Audit experience, including planning and completion, and a proven track record in accounts preparation.
- Skills: Excellent communication skills, client-focused with commercial awareness, proficient in Excel, Word, and ideally CCH accounts and audit automation.
- Knowledge: Good technical knowledge, including recent developments in accounting and auditing standards.
- Attributes: Excellent organizational skills, ability to work on multiple jobs simultaneously, ability to work under pressure, proactive nature, and enjoys working as part of a team.
Additional Preferences
- Driving License: Ability to travel to client premises.
- Experience: Knowledge of consolidated accounts.
Salary and Benefits
- Salary: We offer a competitive, market-based salary.
- Working Hours: A 35-hour working week with a hybrid working policy, allowing for up to three days per week working from home (core hours are 10-4).

- Profit-Sharing: Eligibility for the firm’s Profit-Sharing Plan, paid in December.
