Description

We are looking for an experienced corporate tax specialist at Senior Manager level to join our Harrogate/ Leeds office and be a part our fast-growing and dynamic Northern Regional Group.

The mix of work will be varied as the client base of the corporate tax team is across a diverse range of business sectors within the local market.

Corporate tax compliance is one key aspects of the role, incorporating tax planning across this diverse portfolio of clients over the course of the annual cycle. This will include areas such as group tax planning, property planning, capital allowances, R&D tax credits and s455 tax planning. Tax accounting will also be an essential part of the role.

The successful applicant will also work closely with the Partners on stand-alone tax advisory projects, including structuring acquisitions and disposals, transaction support and due diligence.

The role would also include the supervision/review of work undertaken by the tax team including some staff responsibilities and work planning. The individual would report directly to the head of the corporate tax team and/or client partner.

Ongoing training will be provided, with the opportunity for the individual to attend both internal and external training sessions. The role provides a good range of work for some with a solid corporate tax compliance background. Experience of dealing with large groups, partnerships, non-resident landlords and non-resident capital gains tax would be beneficial.

The Team

There are exciting times ahead for the local office with the move from Harrogate to Leeds.

The corporate tax teams in the Harrogate and Manchester offices work together as one CT North team to deliver corporate tax advisory and compliance services. The team, headed by 2 partners, comprises of over 20 members from director to tax assistant.

We have a great client base which provides a huge variety of tax compliance and advisory work. You will be joining a dynamic and rapidly growing team, offering the opportunity to develop new skills and accelerated career growth opportunities.

There will be flexibility of working from home as part of our Agile Working Policy.

The Office

This role will be based in our Harrogate office but will be relocating to new offices in Leeds City Centre in the summer 2024.

You

  • Preferably CTA and/or ACA qualified and have experience in a Senior Management level position.
  • Recent experience in working with clients and a team to manage a corporate tax portfolio to deliver advisory and compliance work and will need relevant strong client handling and managerial skills as well as detailed up to date working knowledge of corporate taxation issues (especially those relating to owner-managed businesses).
  • A growing network and the tenacity to continue to grow your network and help to develop new opportunities from your network.
  • Ability to be pro-active, resilient and driven; displaying a positive approach to work and have the ability to get things done.
  • A team player.
  • Establish credibility at all levels, be commercially minded and have a clear perception of client requirements.
