Saffery Ireland is expanding and currently seeking a full-time Tax Senior to join our growing team.

Our tax team are currently hiring for a unique and exciting role in our Dublin city centre office. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a fast-growing team in a flexible environment which values work-life balance, working on a hybrid basis. Our clients include all the major Hollywood Film Studios, many leading independent film production companies, and some of the largest Television Production companies in Ireland, the UK and the USA. We’re looking for a commercially minded, motivated, and ambitious individual who is ready for a new challenge.

The role

The successful candidate will be joining a team with deep expertise and strong client relationships in the media sector, and advising the clients in the film and TV industry will be a significant part of the role. We also advise non-film and TV clients, across and number of industries, as well as high net worth individuals and their families across a number of tax heads. The role will involve:

  • Assisting in the delivery of high-quality tax advisory services to clients on a wide range of issues including M&A, inbound/outbound corporate tax planning, IP migration and exploitation, and wealth planning and structuring for high-net-worth individuals.
  • Work with the senior management team to provide expert Irish tax advice to our significant film and TV client base
  • Provide assistance to clients in structuring and claiming the Irish digital gaming tax credit, unscripted production tax credit, and the R&D tax credit.
  • Advising inbound businesses and individuals on setting up in Ireland
  • Managing the corporation tax, income tax, and VAT affairs of a varied client base
  • Involvement in business development and marketing initiatives
  • Managing and acting as a mentor to junior staff
  • Support and guidance of an approachable senior management team who will help you to achieve your long-term career goals

The responsibilities

Frequently dealing with challenging technical issues, the candidate can expect the role to encompass the following areas amongst others:

  • Preparation and review of tax computations and returns across all tax heads
  • Taking an active role in the management of key milestones, return and payment deadlines
  • Corresponding with clients in relation to their tax affairs, as well as assisting with Irish Revenue enquiries and audits
  • Supporting Partners and Managers on the delivery of tax advisory assignments and planning projects
  • Support in advising on a range of technical areas
  • Providing support in stand-alone tax advisory projects, including structuring acquisitions and disposals, transaction support and due diligence.

Saffery in Ireland, based in Dublin, is a firm of chartered accountants and tax advisers. Our wide portfolio of clients has expanded to include all areas of business, with a particular emphasis on media and entertainment businesses, private clients, charities and not-for-profits, landed estates, property funds and owner-managed businesses.

Our Dublin-based team provide tailor made services, including accounting, audit and assurance, tax, corporate finance and business advisory, for all aspects of our clients’ lives. We advise on both their personal and business affairs, as well as assisting at all phases of wealth generation, preservation and succession.

You

The role would suit a recently qualified Chartered Tax Advisor (CTA), or a Chartered Accountant (ACA/ACCA) currently pursuing the CTA qualification.

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate the following:

  • Strong tax technical skills;
  • Ability to analyse tax technical queries and provide robust advice and solutions;
  • Project management skills, with the ability to plan and prioritise work, meet deadlines and monitor budgets;
  • Responsibility for the delivery and quality of work;
  • Excellent communication skills;
  • A clear client focus with a commitment to building strong client relationships;
  • Ability to work collaboratively in different teams;
  • Coaching and mentoring skills to develop other team members; and
  • Willingness to learn with a keen desire to become involved in new areas and share knowledge.

  • A 35 hour working week with a hybrid working policy with the flexibility to work from home for up to three days per week (our core hours are 10-4);
