The role
As an IT Applications Analyst, you will be the firm’s subject-matter expert for our portfolio of business-critical applications. You will provide 2nd and 3rd line support, manage upgrades and enhancements, and work with business stakeholders to ensure our systems are used effectively.
Our application estate comprises a mixture of SaaS platforms and Azure‑hosted client/server applications, and you will play an integral role in ensuring their stability, performance and continual improvement following established ITIL change and release management processes.
The responsibilities
Support & Operations
- Ownership of incidents, problems and service requests at 2nd/3rd line.
- Managing vendor escalations for SaaS and third‑party hosted applications.
- Monitoring application health, availability, performance and security.
Application Lifecycle & Upgrades
- Planning, testing and implementing upgrades and patches.
- Maintaining configuration, integrations and system documentation.
Project Delivery
- Working with Project Managers and business SMEs on new system implementations.
- Supporting application rationalisation or optimisation initiatives.
Stakeholder Engagement
- Running workshops or discovery sessions.
- Translating business needs into functional or configuration changes.
- Communicating changes to users and delivering training where needed.
Governance & Security
- Ensuring compliance with IS policies and regulations (e.g., Cyber Essentials, GDPR).
- Participating in DR/BCP testing.
You
- Experience providing 2nd/3rd line support for business-critical applications in a professional services environment including document management and audit platforms.
- Strong understanding of SaaS platforms, client/server systems and Azure-hosted applications.
- Knowledge of ITIL-aligned processes (incident, problem and change).
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting and technical skills; experience with SQL, logs or API-based integrations is advantageous.
- Requires broad or specialised knowledge from advanced specialised training, work experience or a relevant degree or equivalent. May have an understanding of theoretical concepts and principles.
- Relevant experience within specific area of work in professional services or a partnership.
- Strong presentation skills and ability to be persuasive. May need the ability to coach and motivate others.
- Able to use judgement / experience to tackle issues and seek advice on more complex problems.
- Strong analytical skills, based on systems and models relevant to the field of work.
- Strong computer literacy and understanding of relevant software. Keeps up to date on all required training such as information security.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; including communicating with technical and non-technical clients and staff at all organisational levels.
- High levels of commitment and ability to act when necessary.
- Team-focused mentality, understanding that the function must work collaboratively to drive success.
