The role
We are seeking a qualified Company Secretarial professional to join the growing Business Services Group at Saffery. This is a newly created role for a national team, designed to lead, and define the firm’s company secretarial offering, and provide support across the firm to partners and staff in the delivery of this key service. In this position you will be responsible for conducting a range of company secretarial services supporting clients within the private sector.

This role is ideal for a manager or senior manager looking to continue to progress their career in this space and becoming a valued member of a collaborative team.

The candidate would be managing a team, typically consisting of a senior and a junior.

The responsibilities

The responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

Client work

  • Maintaining statutory books and records
  • Preparation and submission of documents for filing at Companies House, including confirmation statements
  • Prepare resolutions, forms & supporting documents for share capital transactions
  • Incorporations of UK entities
  • Registration of UK establishments of overseas companies
  • Submit dormant company accounts
  • Submit and advise on voluntary striking off applications
  • Submissions of PSC notifications and updates
  • Register of Overseas Entities filings
  • Respond to technical queries from clients & colleagues
  • Working with internal teams and colleagues

Processes and software

  • Review processes and develop a national standardised set of procedures
  • Review software available to identify the optimum solutions

Supervision of staff and staff development

  • Involvement in recruitment of staff
  • Provide training to team members, ensuring they are able to support the roll out of company secretarial services nationally
  • Conduct regular review meetings with staff to appraise their performance and development requirements, and provide feedback
  • Give feedback to other managers regarding staff matters
  • Delegate work to team members, ensuring this is done appropriately
  • Supervise work being undertaken by team members

The team
The Business Advisory Group advise businesses ranging from large multi-national corporations to small family-run companies. You will work across a huge variety of sectors including real estate, recruitment, retail and hospitality, financial services, not-for-profit and sports and entertainment.

Our clients range from entrepreneurial owner managed businesses to medium-large international groups.

You

  • Ideally you will be qualified or have the equivalent work experience.
  • Previous experience in professional services.
  • Possess a good knowledge of the Companies Acts & relevant statutes.
  • Demonstrate a passion for delivering quality, ensuring that client needs are met.
  • Flexible, professional approach and have the confidence and ability to communicate effectively with managers, partners and clients.
  • Team player with a positive and enthusiastic attitude and excellent eye for detail.
  • Ability to allocate work but also be hands on and in the detail. To set priorities, define activities, give responsibilities and plans work so that results are achieved on time.

  • A 35 hour working week with a hybrid working policy with the flexibility to work from home for up to three days per week (our core hours are 10-4)
